John,
First of all, I want to thank you for asking me to play drums for Iowa2000. It was a time I will never forget. The music you picked out was absolutely wonderful! I felt the speakers were very
good. The messages they gave were powerful and their words were carefully selected. I didn't feel they were talking for the mere pleasure of hearing their own voice.

I have not participated in very many Catholic activities before I2K but the thing that impressed me the most was how reverent the Masses were. There was a feeling of "holiness" I have not encountered in other churches. The weekend was a "mountaintop" experience for me.

I am not a stranger to religious retreats either. I have attended 3 National Promise Keepers Retreats and several Iowa PK's as well.

However, the Iowa2000 had a bigger impact for me. So again, thanks for inviting me to be a part (and me, a non-Catholic, at that).

You have worked so hard all year to make this a great event for the youth. You selected music, organized a great team of musicians rehearsed the music and had it all set to lead the youth in music ministry. Good Job..!

Tons of kids were truly blessed this past weekend. I have talked to several kids from the Boone area alone that went and they expressed what a great retreat it was for them spiritually.

John, this was a very powerful event that influenced and strengthened teens, changed some lives forever. Because of this, Satan would just love to get his hands on the people that plan this retreat and cause division among them, to the point where the event would fall apart and not happen. I'll pray that the Iowa2000 in 2008 will be the best ever.

Thanks again.

Your friend in Jesus,
Paul Navara...The Drummer Dewd..!

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!! IOWA2000 ended today, and I can't believe how incredible it was! If you went, I have no doubts that you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about!
And remember to say that daily prayer for the life of an unborn baby in danger of being aborted. -to all of us, me included ;) who have trouble remembering to pray daily, ask St. Elizabeth Ann Seton to pray for you and the Blessed Mother to give you the grace to remember to say that prayer daily.
This weekend was awesome. I hope to see you all next year!

--PRAISED BE JESUS CHRIST!

finish that verbally- no matter where you are... and don't be ashamed!

Blessed Mary Virgin Mother of God's Son Jesus please bless this gathering in a month. May Jesus continue to use this retreat to open the hearts of the young, especially the hearts of young men to His call to the one and Holy Priesthood. Many many many young people will give themselves and their hearts to You. Please continue to strengthen their hearts and minds in Your call. Do not forget the hearts of the young women Lord, My God. Strengthen their hearts and minds as well. Deepen their devotion to You and Your Church. Lord, please help us to continue to be a strong roll model to the adults of our church as well as the young people. We ask this day after day in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.

Amen.

For the sake of His sorriful passion, Have mercy on us and on the whole world!

ummmmm....by my calculations it seems we are starting this "Come Follow Me" meeting with Jesus in one month - let the 30-Day Novena begin..!!

I think noon o'clock everyday should about catch it.

So - are you "IN"....?

Noon today -- say
1 Our Father -
1 Hail Mary -
1 Glory Be -

simple - effective and just watch what happens when a thousand or so of you start to get with it...

W O W

Here we go now....

so... where are all the "posters"... we aren't getting much dioalogue up here, and that kind of makes me sad! Anywho, I am extremely excited for this years retreat... everyday that passes by I just get more and more pumped for it. This is the first time that I have been preparing with prayer too... it's going to be an AH-MAZING weekend, and I really hope that we can rock Dowling for Jesus! (aka: ALL OF YOU SHOULD BE THERE!) , liz
